Description
User-friendly control system for thrusters
Key Facts
- User-friendly steering system
- Outstanding interfacing with other systems
- Ethernet based system with a redundant data path
A complete control system is standard equipment in the ZF scope of supply. It is designed to control a single azimuth thruster and provides follow-up steering- and propulsion control, as well as independent backup- and emergency stop functionality.
Options
ThrusterCommand is integral part of the ZF Thruster portfolio
Available for Azimuth and Tunnel Thrusters
Thruster Control Unit (TCU) places in the immediate vicinity of the thruster
Control panels
In general one control panel on the bridge
IP56 front protection wing panels possible
Machining Room Control Panel (MRCP)
Remote Control Panel(s) with full options (RCP)
Additional Remote Control Panel(s) without backup (ARCP)
Interfaces
Propulsion and steering interfaces
Serial interfaces to VDR and AMS systems
Optional interfaces to HCS (autopilot), DPS and JCS
External indicators can be connected and displayed as well
Control system is capable of interfacing with prime movers such as diesel engines and electric or hydraulic propulsion systems
Steering the system either with a hydraulic or electric steering system
Thruster data logging for service and data analysis purposes
Thruster status monitoring and alarm sensors
Type approved by all major class societies
Follow-up control
Steering
The lever can be used to provide a steering order from 0 to 360 degrees, by rotating it around its vertical axis. For easy and precise positioning of the steering order, detents are placed in the 0°, 90°, 180° and 270° position.
Propulsion
Propulsion orders related to the maximum propeller RPM can be given by pushing the lever in the vertical direction.
Clutch
To automatically engage and disengage the clutch, a detent is placed in propulsion lever for the clutch-in position.
Other control functions
Thruster start / stop control
Individual pump, steering and propulsion start / stop control
Lifting function for Deck Mounted Thruster
Automated retract control
Dimming control
Control transfer
Combined thruster control for:
Multiple thrusters controlled by one lever
Combined dimming
Combined panel transfer
